National Aquarium

We didn't even know they were going to take our picture.  They literally said, "smile" and snapped it.  Jack wasn't ready with his cheesy smile!

We went to the National Aquarium in downtown Baltimore on Sunday afternoon after the kids woke up from their naps.  It was a good time to go because when I visited there during a dental school trip it was packed with people.  This time was quiet, only a few families.  They don't allow strollers so the kids went into carriers.  Jack into a backpack carrier on Chris, and Savannah into a front pack carrier for me.  My pictures didn't turn out very well because the fish don't like flashes (so the signs say) and the exhibit areas are pretty dark so you can appreciate the bright colored fish and coral.  The shark tank and huge tanks with turtles and sting rays were definitely the favorite parts for Jack.  Unfortunately he had a hard time understanding that he couldn't get into the water and swim.  He kept asking to go "in, in!" 

The dolphin show was definitely the best part!  Jack loved it when the dolphins played with the big blue balls out in the water.

He would laugh whenever the dolphins went up high in the air.

I tried to catch one of them up in the air but either I am a terrible photographer or my camera is just too old.

We had a great time, but did hurry through the exhibits, wondering how long the kids would last.  Savannah just loved being held and watching all the people.  We went out and had to buy Savannah a toy to play in for our room.  She had no where to play except for a small area on the floor and since she is learning to crawl, she has fallen on her face so many times and cried and cried from the hard wood floor.  And Jack ends up stepping on her little fingers so we decided she needed something to play with in the room and she can practice her crawling downstairs in the toyroom.

She basically just ate the frosting and then licked her fingers for 10 minutes after I took away the cupcake.

This is from today at therapy.  They prefer ifyou don't take pictures but I snapped this one quick since Jack was so excited to be in the little red car.  He is doing a great job, making slow but steady progress.  We are so proud of him! Every night I pray that God will continue to give him the strength and patience he needs to relearn how to use his arm and hand.
