We had a very busy weekend last weekend traveling to Des Moines for Rena's graduation and then to Sioux City for my grandpa's 90th birthday. Lolli and Pop took the kids to Sioux City for us on Saturday night so me and Chris could go out and celebrate with Joe and Rena. We had a great time with Nick, Alex, Rena's brother, and his wife Jessica. The next morning me, Chris and Nick got up early to head to Sioux City. We met up with the kids at Greg and Roxanne's and got them ready to go the park. The weather was terrible, cool, windy and drizzling. We still had fun seeing everyone, tons of extended family, and wishing my sweet Grandpa Keane a happy 90th birthday!! My only sadness is that I did not get any photos!! It was very chaotic with hungry kids, lots of people, family singing together and the radio station giving my Grandpa a shout out. Several people left early to help sandbag and move furniture out at Dakota Dunes and South Sioux City due to the Missouri river flooding. We wished we could have helped our aunts and uncles and cousins as they prepared for flooding of their homes. We are thinking and praying for them as the flooding continues for the next couple of weeks.
After the party we met up with Anne and Patrick and Nick at Greg and Roxanne's for a yummy dinner. The next day we went to Luke and Courtney's house to have breakfast together. Brook is going to be the best big sister when her baby brother or sister arrives. She is so good with Jack and Savannah. She loves to help and play with them. Luke has a new job, as a financial analyst for the city of Sioux City. He is so excited to start his new job and we are very proud of him as it was a very competitive position. He is also studying for his MBA, taking classes this summer too! Courtney also has a new job, as a nurse at Prairie Pediatrics. We are so proud of her for finishing nursing school and working and being such a good wife and mom to Brooklynn!
