The Zoske’s Visit

Our friends from Marshalltown, came to Sioux City to visit us on June 28th for two fun filled days of outdoor fun, great food, and wiped out kids. We were so excited they made the trip and it was wonderful to see how much their kids have grown. Sam and Samantha have three children that are all very close in age to our children.  Isaiah is seven, Zoey is five, and Leyton is two.  We were really sad when we moved from Marshalltown and knew we would not be able to see them regularly.  We have decided to make our summer visits an annual tradition. We have set the date for our family to visit the Zoske’s at their new house in Marshalltown this June. 

Thursday night we sat outside and watched the kids play while we caught up and talked. After dinner we made a couple of pitchers of margaritas and let the kids run while in the side yard on the swing set until dark while we sat and drank.  It was so nice to just relax and hear all about what we had missed out on in Marshalltown in the last year.  Chris and Sam stayed outside while Samantha and I put the kids to bed. We rejoined them later.   On Friday we had a lazy morning and a big breakfast.  Chris and Sam played 18 holes of golf while Samantha and I entertained the kids.  We met the guys at the pool around lunchtime and had a great afternoon in the sun.  We ordered lunch and probably a couple of drinks too.  The kids had a blast and wore themselves out.  We brought them home to watch a movie and we were all pretty lazy until dinner. 

Meals were a bit chaotic but we made it through. Eventually the parents got a chance to eat. 

Leyton and Landon were pretty interesting to watch.  It started off as a cute curiosity. Then it turned into playful tapping into full blown hitting.  Eventually we had to hide the kiddie plastic golf clubs from Leyton. 

We can’t wait for our visit to Marshalltown.  Their family is one that makes us laugh, and the conversation is NEVER boring.  So much to always talk about!  This time though, me and Samantha are leaving Sam and Chris with the kids so we can get away! And we need a photo of the whole group! Adults included!
