Preschool Graduation May 2013

Our two graduates!!
(not quite sure why they have the three year olds participate when they all return for a second year of preschool but whatever)

We had a long talk with Jack before the ceremony.  We explained that he had to follow directions, stay with his class and in line even if he sees us.  Last year in Marshalltown he got so excited he ran to us and then didn’t want to go back with his class to sing.  This year he was PERFECT!  He stayed in line, stood quietly looking for us, scanning the crowd.  His face was so serious until he saw us…then he waved and grinned like crazy.  He was so excited. He sang, he did the actions, everything!!  I was so proud of him.  Jack really has a hard time concentrating on doing the actions.  He is easily distracted by the joy and excitement of everything that a lot of times he just stands there smiling and doesn’t participate.  But together with his teacher, we have really coached him to sing and do the actions with his class. SUCCESS achieved!!  Yes, I cried happy tears.

Savannah was a different story.  She just stood up there looking for us but never found us. She sang, but she looked so sad the whole time.  Poor baby. Sad smile

Once they handed her the diploma and she saw us then the smile didn’t fade for over an hour!

This is Savannah’s best friend from preschool, Faith.  She said one day before graduation, “Mom I am sad.  I won’t see Faith anymore and she makes me laugh and smile everyday.” Such a sweet statement from a three year old.  I told her she would see her next year or that we could arrange a play date this summer.  We never did a play date but they will see each other soon, preschool starts back up on Wednesday.

The ceremony was short and sweet….a perfect ending to a great school year at AngelHouse.
