On Saturday night we went to the Orpheum for a 7 pm showing of “How to Train Your Dragon.” It is an animated film that has been out on DVD for awhile. The kids had never seen it and we had free tickets! If you look closely at the kids’ faces, you can see they have some scabs on their faces. They picked up hand, foot, and mouth from ChildServe. The Coxsackie virus is being spread very quickly throughout Marshall and Story counties and of course, both of the kids had to pick it up. Its been real fun, let me tell you. They were finally past the contagious phase so we figured their isolation time ending should be celebrated. I still put them in jeans and long sleeves to hide some of the scabs. We bought our popcorn and treats and got settled for the movie.
For some reason lately, the kids appear to be in pain when they smile!! I think saying “CHEESE” must strain their cheek muscles!
Savannah really enjoyed the movie. She was so content to sit and eat her popcorn and M&Ms. She didn’t say a word unless she needed a drink. Jack on the other hand, did not like the action chase scenes because he said they were too loud. The volume was up a little loud for my liking for certain scenes. He also had some very itchy spots on his feet that he continued to scratch despite me trying to distract him with his Skittles. He was ready to go after about an hour. I was happy he lasted that long. We had a good time and I can finally say that they are ready to go to movies at the theater!
