Last Sunday we went to Mass early, at 8:00 and that was start of our adventurous day. We packed a picnic lunch and headed to Des Moines for a day trip to the zoo. Christina met us at the zoo before she flew out for her business trip to Salt Lake City, Utah and New Mexico. She helped us with the kids and took some good pictures. The zoo was perfect for our young kids, we easily got through the whole zoo in a couple hours.
Jack loved the petting zoo, goats, chickens, llama, a really BIG bull!

The monkeys were chasing each other and were making a lot of noise. Jack loved to watch them play together.
The lions were sleeping and Jack continued to say, "all done!! No nite nite!"

We took lots of other photos of the animals but I decided to spare you the scrolling. We were exhausted at the end of the day, but so worth the good memories with my family.
