Organizing the Office

These photos were from late July.  This is the central sterilization area/storage area. We spent four hours on a Saturday morning cleaning out all the cupboards and shelves.  We wiped them all down with Lysol and threw out over six full trash bags of expired dental supplies.  Yikes. I was surprised to see the extent of supplies that had been kept over the years, stuff dating back to, believe it or not, 1975.  We had a few good laughs looking at some of the stuff.  Dr. T was very much a saver….maybe a touch of a hoarder too. Smile

I wish I would have taken pictures of the “dental museum” before we cleaned that out.  The dental museum was the back two operatories that was used as a storage place for cleaning supplies, extra dental supplies, seasonal decorations, and TONS of broken and outdated dental equipment.  It was a very dusty mess back there. It is now clean, organized, and there is a lot more space.  We plan on having these ops equipped when we can to make them functional.

Now all we have left to do is the three ops me and Dr. T currently work out of.  The drawers are all a disorganized mess with materials all mixed together and not at all efficient.  That will be a Friday coming up.   Thank goodness the hygiene ops are neat and organized.  We are making progress that is for sure!
