Jack’s Long Time Out

Jack is in a very interesting stage right now.  He has had a burst of language and speech development and we are loving communicating with him in such a grown up way most of the time.  Unfortunately he has learned how to really aggravate his sister with words, and try to debate and negotiate with his Dad ALL DAY LONG.  This behavior often results in time outs that make Jack scream and cry and come out of his room several times.  All this is happening when I am at work and I always feel horrible when Chris has had a rough day with Jack or Landon.  Savannah is usually the Godsend, acting like such a good girl and a helper. On this particular day Jack was especially challenging and Chris finally resorted to tying the door handle of Jack and Savannah’s room to the door knob across the hall to the bathroom so he couldn’t get out of his room.  Jack cried so long and so hard that he fell asleep on the ottoman, his feet resting on the floor.  This was unbelievable to me since Jack could cry in the cry for a whole hour or more and never fall asleep in his car seat when he was a bit younger.

Chris is the most amazing dad and I am always amazed by his patience, his nurturing and affectionate ways with the kids, and his sense of humor.  He had a stressful day and did his best to cope with all three of them that day….and was still able to chuckle when he showed me the pictures.  Thank you babe, for being the best husband and father, we love you!!
